2009 Culpeper Farm Days : Bill and I met up with Brad and Andria to spend a day checking out a couple of farms in Culpeper. We visited Cibola Farms to check out their Bison and get some meat and then we headed to Platinum Alpaca's where we spent some time with the Alpacas and met up with some of Brad and Andria's extended family. We had absolutely beautiful weather and thoroughly enjoyed our day out exploring!

2009 Anniversary/4th of July Trip to Alexandria : Bill and I were in Michigan for our actual 9 Year Anniversary but we wanted to celebrate it officially the following week-end which happened to be July 4th. We decided to stay a night in Old Town Alexandria at the Hotel Monaco, which turned out to be a stellar hotel! We started our day by biking 17 miles from Alexandria to Mount Vernon with a picnic at the half point. When we returned to our hotel, our room wasn't ready yet so we headed to a nearby Irish pub to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. We checked in around 3:30 and decided to catch a quick nap before getting ready for our evening events. When we woke, we went outside on our balcony and watched a wedding that was happening in the courtyard. We took off for dinner about an hour later and ate at The Wharf. We had hoped to see some fireworks and we did but they were far off in the distance so nothing too spectacular from where we were. We decided to head to Las Tapas before heading back to the hotel to listen to some live Spanish music, which turned out to be a great time. The following morning we had breakfast in the adjoining restaurant to the hotel, Jackson 20, and then headed back. It was great to get away even if just for a night - especially to celebrate our anniversary!

2009 Day Trip to Frederick, MD : Bill and I took a trip up to Pennsylvania to drop off our yearly venison and on the way back stopped in Frederick, MD to have lunch and walk around. It is/was the beginning of March and it was in the mid 70s so we took advantage of the nice weather and sat outside for lunch and enjoyed the temps!

2008 West Virginia Day Trip : To celebrate our day off, Bill and I jumped in the Touareg and headed to West Virginia: Wild and Wonderful. We first stopped in Charles Town to see what that was like and then ended up in Shepherdstown which was about 10 miles from Charles Town. Charles Town was a bit of a disappointment (nothing there) but Shepherdstown was small, cute, and quaint, just what we were looking for!

Lake Anna with Brad and Andria : Bill and I enjoyed a lovely 2 days (1 night) with our friends Brad and Andria at Lake Anna over the Labor Day week-end. The weather ended up being beautiful and perfect for time on the Lake. We zoomed around on Jet Ski's and cruised around in the boat - enjoying the nice weather and seeing the lovely homes on the Lake. It was a perfect way to spend the Labor Day week-end! Thanks again Brad and Andria for having us, it was a blast!!
